DISTRICT PROFILE
The District was carved out of the former Dangme West District in 1988. The District was established by Legislative Instrument (L.I) 2039. The Administrative Capital of the District is Dodowa.

LOCATION AND SIZE
The Shai Osudoku District is situated in the South-Eastern part of Ghana, lying between latitude 5° 45’ South and 6° 05’ North and Longitude 0° 05’ East and 0° 20’ West. The District shares boundaries with Yilo Krobo District, Manya krobo District and Asuogyaman to the North respectively, to the East with Ada West, to the South with Ningo-Prampram District and to the West with Akwapim North Municipal and Tema metropolitan respectively.

 The 2015 revenue generated was GHC 4,304,917.7 and the expenditure recorded GHC 16, 478,626.00. The activities of the district are agriculture, forestry and fishery.

The population of the district according to 2010 population and housing census stands at 51,913.
