EKUMFI
DISTRICT PROFILEEkumfi District is one of the twenty-two administrative districts in the Central Region. It was
established by a Legislative Instrument (L.I. 2170, 2012). It was created and inaugurated on
June, 2012 with Essarkyir as its capital. Pineapple production is the main farming activity in the district. Other agricultural products such
as vegetables and fruits are produced on large scale in the district. Fishing is another economic
activity carried out by the people especially along the coastal areas.
